Party at the beach sticks
I have a friend who has built his retirement home on an island in Puget Sounds (Seattle area). They plan to throw a beach party housewarming in June and I've been asked to provide sticks (well, I said that I was going to do it whether they wanted me to or not and they then graciously asked).
Many (perhaps 30) of the guests are periodic cigar smokers. Most seem to like Fuente but I've also corrupted them with Tatuaje and the like. For a good all around smoke with beer and friends on the beach, I am leaning towards getting the Tat Noellas and Fuente Short Stories. What would you get if you were supplying sticks for a bunch of drunken bikers at a beach party?

I would go with the Tat's if they're all experienced smokers. Great cigars, and something a little bit rarer or more boutique then a Fuente. Plus the Noellas are tasty.

I would vote short stories...Love those things and everyone I have given one to loved it

Padron 2000 or 3000. You can even mix in some 6000 for those who like a stronger smoke...All my friends who hardly ever smoke, always seem to enjoy a Padron K series

It isn't about what *I* should get. I asked what you would get. It's a hypothetical.

Unless these people are semi-regular smokers, I wouldn't get tat's or the hemi's... Maybe on box for one of those and a box of a lighter conn wrapped cigar like a 601 or something...

I agree with Pete, Benchmades have gone over really well with some non regular smokers I have handed them too and if they don't like them you are only out 3 bucks a stick.

Believe it or not, almost all of them prefer CCs. Many are serious Fuente whores (858s being quite popular). The CC crowd will not be forgotten, however.
I like the 858 suggestion a lot.

Re: Party at the beach sticks
If "I" was looking to have enough on hand for about 30 people "I" would shoot for a box of 2000 maddies and a sampler like this one.
http://www.cigarsinternational.com/p...ASST20&cat=106 (I like RP too.) So that way I have a little bit of everything covered. Not saying that the people would all like the RPs bit a sampler covering different strengths. Or maybe the 2000 maddies and a few 5 packs so "I" pick few different things. Re: Party at the beach sticks
My experience with bringing cigars for a large number of people is that those who smoke regularly will appreciate what you bring and those who don't will most likely toss the cigar early or not appreciate what they're smoking. That said, I'd go with any of the Padron X000s. Good solid flavor and they're reasonably priced. You can also bring some other cigars for those who will appreciate them.

Re: Party at the beach sticks
If they're all going to be drunk then something inexpensive like Padron 2000's is a good idea....epsecially if they toss it after a couple of puffs or are too drunk to know what they're smoking.

Re: Party at the beach sticks
I'd so the short stories - or maybe even some Sun Growns. If they are only occasional cigar smokers, then I'd stay away from the Tats - unless they are used to smoking cigarrettes or something, for the Tats can blow you away.
Peace.

i like the idea of the 858. its a good cigar in it's own right but its also great for beginners and for situations where you might not be able to give a cigar your full attention, like a beach party.
