I'm pretty sure a local brother saw my green-with-envy post above and decided to come to my rescue.

Meet "The Chief", as my benefactor dubbed him many years ago. He's not all painted up, but after he gets cleaned up a bit & slathered with oil, I'm guessing he's gonna be right purdy.

Big thanks to Mannyboy for starting this thread -- without it, I'm not sure I'd have had this opportunity.

I missed that last week, Vin, that's super cool! Ours are very similar aside from the paint.

Same tribe maybe?

Tung oil was recommended, and I've gotten one coat on so far. It really brings out the richness in the wood. Going to put on a second coat this weekend, and see where we're at after that. The Chief's going to spend a few weeks in the garage to off gas. Last thing I need are fumes in the lounge.

Successfully got him into the lounge without dropping him down the basement stairs and smashing him into a million little oil-stained pieces.

I like how the shadow on the wall gives the illusion of wings. Clearly the eagle is his spirit animal.
