Your Favorite B&M and Why.
Lets get a list going of member's favorite B&Ms. If you have more than one for any reason e.g. price, selection, or atmosphere list them all. Also let us know what town they're in.
Hopefully we can put together a nice collection of B&Ms around the country. You never know when you might find yourself in another city in need of a friendly place to smoke. For me, I have 3. 1. Heights Cigar Lounge for proximity to home and atmosphere. Houston, TX 2. The Smoke Ring for selection, employee knowledge, and atmosphere. Webster, TX 3. Serious Cigars for proximity to my office. Houston, TX, Richmond Ave. location. What are yours? |

Re: Your Favorite B&M and Why.
None around my area. Therefore I vote to also make this a B&M DO NOT visit list. As it would serve the same purpose. I would also suggest listing better reasons then proximity to your house as it probably won't serve to anyone else.
Here's my $hit list. AKA every B&M I've been to in TN. We don't know how to get a good shop with legitimate honest people. Old Havana smoke shop in Cool springs is the worst - owner is a lying f**king leprechaun. Total scumbag, can't speak English worth a $hit.. uses a lot of fragments. Treats customers and employees like the $hit underneath his shoe. He reminds me of the penguin in Batman Returns. Stoogies - No one here pays any attention to you period, they could care less. Bunch of clueless cashiers. Lounge sucks too. Woodys smokes and brews - they lost their lounge, must be the old angry uninformative bastards that work there. |

Re: Your Favorite B&M and Why.
Thanks for the response, Bill.
It's a shame you don't have a decent B&M near you. |

I agree, wish I did. I like to smoke indoors as well. However luckily the bartenders at Dan McGuinness usually allow cigar smoking. It's nice to have bar service as the same time. I like it there.

Re: Your Favorite B&M and Why.
Winstons Humidor in Midlothian, Virginia...Kevin the owner is down to earth, great atmosphere and he is a fellow Mets fan. Just wish it wasn't an hours drive away. Always well worth the visit though.

St Croix Cigars, Hudson, WI. Great staff, good selection of smokes, nice big comfy chairs, and reasonable prices.

Re: Your Favorite B&M and Why.
Mac I have heard great things about that shop can not wait to take a road trip up there to see it for myself.
Bryan I agree about empire. I love having to fly out of Raleigh just so I can stop in. Great selection and an excellent lounge area. My favorite is Matchbox pipes and cigars. The old man who owns this place is honest and down to earth with great prices. The shop may not look like much and he may not be up on any of the boutique cigars but he keeps some great smokes in there all the time. Not to mention his weekly gathering for a group of regulars. |

Re: Your Favorite B&M and Why.
Paul's Pipes in Flint, Mi. In business since 1928 and still owned by the same man. The antis hate people like Paul who smoke all their lives and live to a ripe old age; Paul turned 98 this year. Large selection of cigars, and many thousands of pipes on display on the sales floor. If you go, do not leave without seeing the pipe museum. Prices...it is what it is. Michigans tobacco tax is like 60% of whole sale so its hard to compete with alot of places. No lounge per se, but there is a smoking room with second hand chairs for the exclusive use of pipe club members and other welcome types. I only live twenty minutes away, so I am blessed to be able to go pretty frequently.

Re: Your Favorite B&M and Why.
I'd have to say Smoke Inn. Abe has 5 stores with friendly knowlegable staff and is the home of the Tat Anarchy. This is where the South Fl crew usually herfs! There is 1 franchise store that has a Beer & wine bar. Marc(Owner) does it real nice there!

Re: Your Favorite B&M and Why.
JR Cigar, knowledgeable staff, great selection, very helpful people.
Hill Cigar Co. same reason as above. both in the St. Louis area HSB Tobacconist I would recommend avoiding this shop, unfriendly staff that don't have any knowledge of cigars only the imported cigarettes. They more interested in you buying the cigarettes than any of the cigars or pipe tobacco on that note, most of the cigars in their humidors had stuff on them that look like mold. |

I miss that place the most since i left VA. That was my home away from home. I just dont get the same welcoming atmosphere at any of the B&ms around here.
