Here is is, hockey fans! Time to get excited about the league and your teams....training camp is only a few weeks away!

As a caps fan, I'm less excited this year than I was last, because my favorite player (Fedorov) is gone. I am looking forward to seeing how our new defencemen play.

Thanks for the nod, Tom. Last year was a good one for the 'Canes... but I am hoping for better this year!

This year's Hurricanes schedule:

And I just have to add this...

One of my favorite days - EVER!

Let's Go 'Canes!!!

Hoping to go see the Canucks play the Bruins in February. My brother is a huge Bruins fan, nothing like sibling rivalry

The winter classic is confirmed in Boston this year at Fenway, with a BU-BC game at Fenway more than likely.

As a BU alum, I am PUMPED!

also, LETS GO AVS!

I can't believe that another Bruins fan didn't do that. I wish that it was the Rangers playing us at Fenway. Hope that it is a good season.

I would predict that this is the year for the Hawks, but I am going to reserve judgment until we see how Huet plays as an everyday goaltender.

Today was seat selection at the RBC Center for season ticket holders - my good friend BarneyBandMan and I got our seats!
(We each get one full season ticket sitting together... then just split the season. Works great!) We go to some... take the wives to some... let the kids use a few... everybody wins.

How much longer until the season starts?!

Congrats Joe!

Speaking of congrats, Hawks and NBC color guy Eddie Olcyk won $500,000 on a $166 bet on a "Pick 6" this weekend. The rich get richer.

Are you sure its only cigars that you smoke.

Much as I hate to say it look to Detroit and Penguins to come together again, unless Ovechkin hits Crosby with his car

No Al the Rangers are not going to win.

Like to see the Flames do it but they lost on the front end, although D got significantly deeper the front end is only older and down one sniper.

I think the Hawks forwards compare well with Detroit, with the Hawks addition of Hossa and Madden and Detroit's loss of Hossa and Hudler. Detroit probably has more scoring talent, but I think the Hawks defense after Lidstrom might be better. Goaltending is the big question mark. I see the Hawks back in the Conference Finals, and maybe finally getting over the Red Wing hump, if the goaltending is strong.
