NOT looking good for the Pens at this moment. Down 1-0 with 7 minutes left in regulation.

Get well Crosby, Malkin and the 20 other guys who were hurt this year...you'll have plenty of time to rest!

Are you fans of both teams or is this that ridiculous Canadians need a team from Canada to cheer for?

2nd round is set.

And I don't care. Virtually every team I wanted to win has lost, except Nashville.

Stanley Cup Playoffs are dead to me. DEAD TO ME!

I've been a Habs fan my entire life, I consider myself a Canucks fan simply because I've lived in Vancouver for the last decade and my family is originally from here. The Canucknuckleheads are definitely my 2nd choice team though.

I don't buy into this Canada's team crap. Canada already has a national team, it won the gold at the Olympics last year and it's currently getting ready for the IIHF World Championship. As nice as it would be for a "Canadian" team to win the Cup, if it's not Vancouver or Montreal i don't really care anymore than if the winner is an "American" team. Hell, the Hawks have more Canadian's and British Columbian's than the Canucks. It's a more Canadian team than most of the teams based in Canadian cities.

Good stuff. Just wanted to make sure as that always confuses me given how many players are Canucks on most teams. I was pulling for the Habs also.

Off the remaing teams I am want to see Philly, Caps, Preds(sorry), and of course my local team.
I think the Canucks will advance though, I just cant call the Sharks Wings given both teams last series. Sharks are facing a rested Wings team looking for revenge from last year and this season and their window is closing so they will make a strong push.

Nice to see the Bruins not blow it this time and send those whiny, cheapshot, injury-faking Canadiens back to Montreal.

Next up, the whiny, cheapshot, injury-faking Flyers.

Yikes Rick.....I have to disagree with most of your claim.....don't get me wrong the Habs flopped around a bit but it was smart of them to do so if the refs were going to call it. Their PP unit killed us. Also the Bs made some terrible hits. We are lucky no one got suspended. They need to play smarter against the flyers. There is no other team in the NHL that I hate more than the flyers and not because of last years series. I hope the Bs can pull it off.....they barely made it out of the first round.

Lucic and Chara need to dig deeper in the next round.

Go Bs!

OK, I can finally post! Was keeping quiet so as not to jinx the Bolts. I gotta say Rolo might be the most underrated goalie in the league. I got TB, BOS, SJ & VAN this round, but as long as the Bolts win, I wouldn't mind if the rest lose.

I think the B's will be fine now? We need some adjustments like get Kaberle off the power play,he slows everything down when he should be speeding it up. Boy did the Bruins get screwed when they got him
Chara on the point is not working ether, it takes him to long to shoot, he has to get set in the meantime the D gets in position, get him down low were he can use his size and strength.
Lucic will be OK Subban done a number on him.
The Flyer series is going to be great, two big teams that like to bang

After watching the Sabres Flyers series, the Flyers really aren't that big anymore and really don't like to bang. Buffalo really dictated the physical play all series. The one thing the Flyers are is skilled. Their forecheck and breakout play is very strong. Boston clearly has the upperhand in the physical dept. but Philly has some very good skill players.

A team that forechecks can give the B's fits, we need a puck moving defencemen, Kaberle is not it.
In the Four games with the Flyers they out hit the B's 114 to 90 but lost the season series 3-1

I agree with you Mike except the "window is closing so they will make a strong push" portion. I know Lidstrom won't be around forever, but people have been saying this about the Wings for years. They have made the playoffs for 20 consecutive seasons. Few if any teams in any sport can claim that. Not to mention they have 4 Stanley Cups in that timeframe. Most didn't think they would survive the loses of Ciccarelli, Shephard, Federov, Shannahan, Konstantinov, or Yzerman, yet they persist. The Wings front office is second to none. Nill, Holland, Develano, and the rest of them, are top notch. That is why they remain a top tier team.

I get the mentality, I just don't subscribe to it. The best analogy I could use would be if all of a sudden most MLB teams were in Canada and therefore the World Series was usually won by a Canadian based team. Even if most of the players were American's playing in Canadian cities I'm sure there would be a desire to see the World Series title return the US because baseball is America's game. The same sort of mentality has developed up here because it's been almost 2 decades since the Cup resided in Canada.

It's not really the strongest analogy because of the obviously ludicrous assumption of more baseball teams in Canada than the US, but it's the best I can think of off the top of my head.

Root for the Wings. After all weren't you born and raised in "South Detroit"?

Can't wait for that puck to drop tonight. Should be a great series. I think the Wings will pull it off, but I think it's going take all 7.

Niemi's play ( 3.99 GAA & .863 Save %) and the Wings PK (66.7%, allowing 6-18) seem to be the two weeknesses we saw in the first round. Whoever improves those areas most might edge out the other.
