Congrats to the Canadian women's hockey team, and to NBC for their excellent coverage of the match.

MSNBC had it in its entirety, and just showed all 3 teams getting their individual medals.

Not all of us have MSNBC. I understand though. "America's Olympic Network" can hardly be expected to preempt Wheel of Fortune.

Show it in it's entirety, but show Jeopardy instead of commercial breaks.
WoF sucks.

To be fair, that was a preliminary match. The lack of network coverage for the Canada-Russia quarterfinal match was a little less excusable.
But last night's vignette on sled dogs and tonight's on lumberjacks more than made up for any lack of sports coverage.

First a skateboarder gets kicked out of the Olympic Village for "questionable" behavior involving a 20 year old woman and his bronze medal. Now Canada's Women's Hockey team is being investigated for celebrating with beer, champagne and cigars after they won the gold.

http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/van...urn=oly,224338

I guess the message the IOC is sending is that Olympic atheletes aren't allowed to party with the opposite sex (in public), party with their team members (in public), drink or HEAVEN FORBID SMOKE A CIGAR! (But they did spend $100,000 on condoms for the athletes. I guess they don't want them reproducing)

The IOC which keeps preaching about the "Olympic tradition" should consider what the true founders of the Olympics did after their games.

And be sure to look at the photos. Those Canadian women know how to party as good as they play hockey.

Poulin probably did not think about the "legal" age as she comes from Quebec and the legal age in Quebec is 18.

Good for them, they deserved to celebrate....

Now hopefully the Canadian Men's team will be doing the same Sunday night

Hopefully that Canada and USA can have a rematch, but I don't think we should think that the Slovaks or the Fins are going to let that happen that easy....

To my mind the only thing that they can possibly complain about is the fact that they're smoking indoors as all public spaces in Canada are non-smoking.

More thoughts on the women's hockey team smoking cigars and celebrating with beer and champagne.

I hope they were good cigars from south of Miami.

I would be glad to party with any of them.

And I'm glad they showed their national pride and drank Canadian beer even though it taste likes moose urine. A few bottles of Trois Pistoles would have been better.

I guess if the US Women would have won the Gold, they would have celebrated with Oreos and milk in keeping with the squeaky clean image that the IOC wants all athletes to have.

National pride wouldn't have been enough to make me drink Molson Canadian, all the generic mass market lagers like Molson Canadian, Kokanie, Labbatt Blue, etc fall under the branding of moose piss. There's a very active microbrewery industry in Vancouver and the rest of Canada that produces very good beer, it's just unfortunate that Molson Canadian gets so much press. It's sorta like saying that Budweiser is the pinnacle of American beer because it's the one that everyone knows about.

The funny thing is that they wrapped the champagne bottles in Molson Canadian labels. Considering Molson Canadian is the beer sponsor for these games I'm guessing the alcohol was all either provided by the IOC or they were instructed that anything other than Molson Canadian needed to be covered up for sponsorship reasons.
