question, the wife had her work camera here for a day D90 with a smoking macro(for dental) and I put my card in it and took a few shots but the images did not show up on my card? ideas?

On my Macro shots, I usually keep my AV around F11 or so. I always shoot in M and RAW. Here's a couple other shots I've done in Macro.

Jumping Spider a little smaller than a dime


This tree frog was about the size of a quarter

Thanks Dan! For the insect shots, I also use a full set of Kenko Extention Tubes to get roughly 2:1 Magnification (2:1 = 2x actual size). The lens alone will only do 1:1. I just used the lens without tubes, and not at 1:1 for the cigar shots. Might have to try that though, tubes and all on a cigar.

no, I did not format the card to that camera, but used the same caRD in my d 40 right after that and those pics are there?

Did you format the card while it was in the camera before shooting?
