I feel like there have been a ton of odd plays and happenings this year. The Yanks 4-6-5-6-5-3-4 triple play, and the whole Zach Greinke incident comes to mind.

Re: MLB 2013 Thread
Porcello gives up 9 runs before 3 outs in the first, and the Tigers are out of it before going through their order once.
Through 17 games: Jackson .316 Hunter .400 Cabrera .347 18 RBI Fielder .328 19 RBI and the rest of the team (besides Peralta) can't hit a lick. Feels a lot like last year already. Well, they won the AL Championship, so I guess that's not all bad.

Re: MLB 2013 Thread
Twins sweep a rain shortened, two game series with the ChiSox. Pitching has surprised the hell out of me this year and our bullpen has been great. Above .500 again. I think last year we were above .500 for about 3 games. Fun start to the season. Hope they can keep it going.

Twins going for six straight tonight against the poor Marlins. Can't believe this start of the season for us. After all the terrible teams I usually get to watch around here this has been a great surprise!

Re: MLB 2013 Thread
Tigers buy out Jose Valverde's Single A contract, bring him up to the Big Club, and he gets a 1-2-3 9th inning save.
I should be happy, but I am more nervous than happy right now.

Curious to see how he bounces back.. Does he have a chip on his shoulder and just power through, or will he fall apart... again.

OK, after watching Phil Coke and Darin Downs implode today, bring on Valverde.

Anibal Sanchez sets a Tigers record with 17 strikeouts in 8 shutout innings.....10-0 win over Atlanta. He's a good one.

Re: MLB 2013 Thread
Went to the Twins game today and got to hang out on the field before the game. Pretty cool. Had a good time on a day that finally felt like Spring.

Re: MLB 2013 Thread
He was at 121 pitches after 8, Leyland didn't want to burn him out for his next start, as he has been the Ace so far, Scott.
Fister on the mound tonight as the Tigers go for the sweep on ESPN.

Alright Tom....Round two between the Motor City Kitties and the Twinkies this year. I like your club's chances going against Pelfrey even though he pitched his only quality start of the year against the Tigers. Hope my team will overcome his long shot quality start.

Re: MLB 2013 Thread
I would say good luck, Pete, but I wouldn't mean it.
I am actually much more interested right now in the clashing of our favorite hockey teams.

Re: MLB 2013 Thread
I would be too but am a slightly bigger ball fan and I think the Twins have a better chance of winning than the Wild unfortunately.
