Re: Photography Thread
Hey Justin, do they make the Magic Lantern firmware for Nikon? I've been using that in my Canon and I love it, so much more functionality.

Re: Photography Thread
I'll have to check and see if the ML guide is the same as the firmware. There is SO much to read, I haven't had a chance to read that. I thought about taking some lessons locally, but time is an issue, especially working nights. I need to become independently wealthy....lol.

Re: Photography Thread
If you haven't already got one, check rentglass dotcom. They are actually locally here, but they ship everywhere, have the best deal on insurance and are some really nice people.

I have a 55-200mm so i'm thinking of renting something on the wider side maybe. maybe a 10.5mm fisheye for building shots when we go to Philly, Boston and NYC?

When looking at the on-line rental stores, if you get insurance, check their policies if something happens to the lens. Rentglass had the cheapest rental rates and I believe you're only responsible for $30, no matter what happens to the lens. None of them cover water damage, they call it negligence. A lot of the insurance policies require you to pay 10-20% of the repairs/replacement.

Re: Photography Thread
I've missed this thread since the beginning of the month I guess. Thanks for the compliment! The subject is in fact my Dad. And I keep that random shot around because I do feel I captures his character as you say. That was the very first shot taken with my Nikon 105VR Micro, I literally pulled it out of the box, snapped the lens on my (I think D200 at the time) camera, and just pointed and shot. My Dad was probably amused because I was like a kid having my own private X-mas. |
