Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
Picked up Knob Creek Single private barrel select $ 4 Roses 2013 small batch LE today. Haven't cracked the 4 Roses but Thought I'd give Knob Creek a try. For the price and proof it's very nice. Very heavy sweet corn smell and in terms of sweetness it almost matches 4 Roses single barrel but it has a little most burn going down. Pretty nice considering I was only going in to pick up 4 Roses single barrel but they happened to be out but had a few alternatives instead.
Still no luck on any Pappy or Rip van winkle but I never give up so someday I'll get mine.

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
Worst day ever! Went to one store today and the guy in front of me bought the last bottle of Old Forester bday bourbon. If that wasn't bad enough, I missed my phone call for Pappy! F*%+¥^*%€€!!!!

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
Xmas arrived early this year! Scored a bottle of PVW 15, ORVW 10, and OFBB. Came down to the last store to get their Pappy allocation. Got the last bottle of 15yr and my wife helped me grab a bottle of 10yr. They sold out of 25 bottles in about 10min (most went to their bourbon club members)

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
I'm having some Booker's for the first time. I don't know if I've ever had a liquor that was so smooth yet was at such high proof.

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
Went to my favorite local store and found they had Woodford gift sets for the same price as a regular 5th. I wasn't really looking to buy a 5th, but the set had a cool copper pot still bottle stopper in it. It sold me.

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
Couldn't agree more! The last bottle I had was 68% ABV and after cutting the first dram and after that I didn't cut anymore. Really great stuff but you've got to be careful 2-3 glasses and you're getting pretty close to blitzed in some cases. I guess it depends on what you call a glass. I usually pour doubles and sip so I'm done after 2.
