I went to the 2012 San Diego International Beer Festival. Over 100 breweries and over 300 beers and this DIPA was my favorite of everything that I sampled.

I am adding one I am NOT enjoying. I predicted this day would come, not sure I thought it would be so soon,
but I am growing tired of Delerium Tremens. Too much carbonation. I guess I could leave it uncapped in the
fridge for a few hours aforn drinkin' it, but I used to LOVE that stuff. Oh well, it'll save me a little money, haha.

3 Weeks sober, not by choice, what I'd do for a beer right now.

I'm game for trying most anything, but cucumber beer? I don't understand where the inspiration comes from and I enjoy cucumbers in a salad or as a veggie snack. I know of one company flavoring vodka with it, and now beer. I have to ask and sincerely, was it b/c it was CCB making it influencing your purchase or you love cucumbers or just a wild hair you felt when at the package store?

I don't know about Cucumber beer, but I believe Hendricks gin is infused with cucumbers, and it's freaking delicious...

Drinking a Troeg's Flying Mouflan from 2010 tonight. The hops really mellowed over time and it was an easy drinking 9.3% abv let me tell ya. Either that or it could be the 100 degree weather!

I've had this beer before on tap at the brewery, and could not wait until they bottled it. The cucumbers really create a refreshing saison and an extremely drinkable beer.

Thank you, your explanation is enticing. Hopefully CCB will be distributing to Chicago soon then I'll try this and many of their other highly regarded offerings.

Later tonight, Schlafly's Reserve 2011 Barleywine. Had the 2008 and it was delicious, looking forward to trying this one.

I'm really intrigued by this beer. Take some water and put it into the fridge with some slices of cucumber in it. After a few hours you've got a refreshing treat. The flavor isn't overwhelming, but it is there. That intensity of flavor is perfect for a saison. I will say I'm more intrigued knowing its CCB, they can probably do exactly what I'm envisioning. Wish they distributed up here. Hoping hill farmstead gets some for their saison fest.
