Speaking of which...y'all want to make some recommendations as to pumpkin beer for someone who isn't a fan of a hoppy taste. I see the Souther Tier above. Have no expertise in this one, or anything really.

Thanks

In my experience most pumpkin beers tend not to be very hoppy. Im a big fan of the Southern Tier Pumpking if you can find it. Dog Fish Head also makes a good one.

Just wanted to thank you guys for the recommendations. Picked up those three. The Pumking was great, the DFH was really good, and the Weyerbacher was outfreakingstanding. I went back looking for more to no avail. I can guarantee I'll be ready for them next year when they're released.

I'm with you. I try a different one each year just to see and always wonder why I bother, just not for me.

Well the "problem" is that there are nearly 3 other cases there that I had to hold myself back from, mixed 08s & 09s. I took all 08's.

I'd like to know what you think of these. The Smokestack series are some of my favorites.

The Weyerbacher was a 4pk & the Bell's was a 6--needed a good quantity of yeast to harvest besides, it's a great beer.

I like my pumpkin beers to favor the pumpkin spice flavors, especially nutmeg and vanilla. Pumking is hands down my favorite, Shipyard is shockingly similar, at a much lower price. Buffalo Bills and (not pictured) Post Road are next in line. The Weyerbacher and Schlafly are both a little more toned down on the spice, followed by the Tommyknocker. From past experience I've found Dogfishead and Smuttynose to favor pumpkin over spice, so they usually don't come home with me.

I love October.
