Stopped by a place that had the somewhat recently discontinued glenmorangie port wood finish. There were two fifths and I bought one of them. The cashier told me they were a collectors item - I told him I was going to drink it

Glenlivit 12 Year Old
I bought a one litre bottle before I quit drinking (which was 23 years ago now). I guess that would make it at least 35 years old today - probably closer to 40. Never did get to taste it. Finally cracked it open several years ago for a friend of my wife who was visiting from back East (she said it was fine). I still have three-fourths of the bottle left. |

Went to the a tasting hosted by Macallan last night. It was a nice free event, so I thought I would give them a little plug here. Not a fan of the fine oaks, but I thought the 18 yo sherry oak was outstanding. Next time I splurge on a bottle, that is going to be on top of the list.

Aberlour A'bunadh. Had a mini Scotch tasting last weekend with KDKLOSS (Kevin) and after trying it decided to pick up a bottle. Quite good, and quite strong!

Grabbed a bottle of The Balvenie - 15 years for over the Turkey day holidays. Has been quite good and will probably finish it off over a second holiday dinner with friends and some Football games on the tube. There will be cigars as well, of course!

Trying to boycott the Scottish for a while. Itching for The Dalmore Gran Reserva though. |
