Sharks get a hard earned 2 points from the Wings tonight. Playing back to back games on the road really seemed to take its toll on the team in the third period. Old man Blake tried to give Detroit the game taking a penalty in the last 6 minutes and then another in OT to give Det a 4-3 PP.

Nabokov put in a team record 50 save performance.

But in the the shout out Patty FTW!

Once again the Sharks are tied for the best overall record in the league. I actually hope they dont take that trophy though given last years epic flame out

Shootout sucks It was a good game. Sharks finally get a win against the Wings this year. I'm defintely hoping we play the Sharks in the playoffs in the first round.

That was an Awesome Game! Not just because the Sharks won but it was one of the most action packed games I have seen in a while. So much back and forth it looked like a tennis match.
Both goalies made some Great saves. Too bad the sharks let so many shots go by (50) but Nabbi was fantastic.
Sharks need to get a little more offence going and stop relying on Nabbi to save their bacon every night. I believe they said Nabbi has a League leading 11 consecutive road wins going right now.

Nope they lost to CBJ the night before which broke their 9 game road winning streak.

As to Detroit in the Playoffs. Given the fact that we can safely rule out them finishing better then a 6th seed it is a possibility. That said they may not make it at all so we shall see. If it started today Detroit is golfing in the playoffs. As I was willing to bet you Detroit would not sniff the 4th or 5th seed. I will be willing to bet the Sharks take detroit in a 7 game series. Provided Detroit makes it in the playoffs that is.

You got it brother. If it is Sharks vs Wings 1st round I'll put up a 5er.

I believe Greiss was in the net in Columbus. The 11 game road winning streak is for Nabbi as stated in my post above.

Careful what you wish for, Christos, these are NOT the 2009 Sharks.

Hawks traded D Cam Barker to Minnesota for veteran D Kim Johnsson and 2009 1st round pick D Nick Leddy. I am OK with it, I think Johnsson is an upgrade, and it saves the Hawks 3 million dollars towards next years' salary cap.

Even though my 'Canes are way out of it, they have been playing very well of late!
Wife surprised me with center ice seats tonight - three rows back. What a girl!
Happy Valentine's Day to me!!!

Ran Marty Brodeur after three goals and won 5-2. New young goalie is playing well (Justin Peters). Two starts - two wins!

Afraid it may have been the last time I see Ray Whitney in a Hurricanes sweater (2 goals and an assist tonight). Probably move him after the Olympic break. Hate to see him go. Whitney is a class act.

Nice on the tixs. Def a keeper. Always wondered what the view is like in the good seats.
Last year we had lower bowl seats but this year went back up to the upper bowl. Cant justify the cost when taking a 4 year old most of the time.

Sharks ran into the wall that is Miller. Didnt like seeing the Sharks get beat, but was nice to see Miller playing so strong going into the olympics. It was weird hearing the crowd chant USA at the end of the game. I know the Sharks have multiple players on team Canada and other national teams, but the Sabres are a very international team as well.

Hawks also picked up a victory and going into the break can officially tie the Sharks again points wise because of games in hand. Kind of knew once they tied it up in the 3rd if it went to a shootout they would get the 2
