Re: best way to cook a hot dog?
slow steamed in beer is always good.
Grilled ultra-well done, always good, too. Cut up, pan fried and dropped into Kraft Mac N' Cheese...... Hey, if the budget demands it.... Rock on!

Re: best way to cook a hot dog?
I buy only Nathan's franks. I fry them in bacon grease in an ancient cast iron pan until they're suffering from 3rd degree burns. Then I toast the buns in the same pan.
I slather the bun halves with Trader Joe's green olive tapenade, toss in the dog, then dump on raw (or fried) onions and diced fresh garlic. If I don't have the tapenade, I use homemade guacamole in its place. |

Re: best way to cook a hot dog?
Hot Dogs, Boiled in Beer, Grilled, Steamed, Or try deep Fried. Till they burst.
might add liquefied butter on the toasting bun. Might top it with a good spicy mustard, Hot Chillier, Sharp Cheddar, Fresh Sour Kraut, Onions sautéed in hot pepper sauce. In mustard choices I like Horseradish mustard, My Preference is A Bauer's German Mustard. For those who like Garlic, Try cooking Knobble Wurst. Hearty Appetites to all, Lenny Waller NYC |

Electrocute them.
Stick a stripped and split 120v cord into each end and watch it swell. 1 1/2 to 2 minutes its done. For the retro crowd, theres the presto hotdogger, which does the same thing: http://www.neighborhoodvalues.com/nv.../misc/35kc.htm |

Re: best way to cook a hot dog?
Drop them in the deep fryer. Top with chili and mustard. One gets kraut the other onions.
