I put it in a small crockery type pot and then seal the thing with aluminum foil all around it so it keeps all the flavor in...then I use the 220 method...220 degrees for 2 hours and 20 minutes...pretty much like throwing a sealed tin on the dashboard of the car and letting it sit in the sun for a while...it really reduces the bite...

As for today's smoke:

W.O. Larsen 1864 Mixture in a Vauen 2002 POY...

I was gonna start a thread, this was such a major deal. Smoked my first three bowls
of tobacco last night. Figured I'd run em through the corncob since I was a blind,
stumbling F#*^. Many will laugh, I started out with Escudo. Some pipe smoker's
would say, 'WHAT!, that's crazy, man', but I have had so many cigars over time,
it was fine, not mild but intensely pleasurable to my tattered tongue.
I smoked three bowls in a row, got a little beating on the tongue, but was fine about
half an hour after and this morning. I like it. Got beaucoup blends on the way from
Burlington, but needed something LAST NIGHT, and at my tobacconist, the only thing
I recognized out in a tin was Escudo. So I took the plunge. Tough to start out that
way when you can't even load up a proper bowl. I got a little better at it.

Nice.

Glad you enjoyed it. Escudo was a good pick indeed. It's tricky at first but you'll get better.

Little Key Largo in my cob tonight. Got two new pipes on the way, pretty sure Im going to dedicate a pipe to this blend. Love it.

Great way to jump in Brad... Better to get first impressions from something you know is quality (even if you have to muddle with it) imho... Enjoy the journey

I have read good things about this blend since it's release, but haven't cracked the seal on a tin yet. Always thinking I have too many things open that I'm not smoking, but I'll have to add another Thanks for the 'push' Frank!

Spring is nearly underway here and I have been smoking more cigars than pipes, but I reached for a tin of Reiner Blend #71 (Long Golden Flake) tonight. It's really hitting the spot in a UPCA Stanwell billiard & I'm glad I cracked the seal on this tin. Tasty, sweet VAs balanced well with some burley. Good stuff!

For some reason, Anni Kake no longer shows "sold out" at Pipes and cigars dot com. Maybe I had better strike.

For lunch, Captain Black White in a pouch, lol. Not going to lie, enjoyed it.
There were even a few hints of Escudo in there. Maybe ghosting, but also
maybe the characteristic I love most about Escudo is also differently present
in the sticky blend. Who knows. WHo cares. Tonight, some Frogmorton.
