We're hitching a second wagon to make room for all the "new" Saints fans.

Re: Cowboys Asylum
In my part of Louisiana (30 miles east of New Orleans and about 35 miles west of Kiln, Mississippi) Brett Favre is considered a neighbor and most of us root for him anytime he is not playing against the Saints. No one I know wishes him any serious physical harm.
But the moment he puts his foot on the turf in the Superdome next Sunday he becomes the enemy and we all want to see him harassed, knocked to the ground a few times, intercepted 2 or three times and sent home to contemplate retirement and the Hall of Fame.

Here's my assessment of the game in general. The Vikes dominated on the D-line. That was where the game was won. The Cowboys O-line could not do a thing with the pressure that the Purple were bringing. It also hurt tremendously to lose Adams in the first half. That was obvious by what happened when Witten was supposed to block Allen 1 on 1. Edwards was the wild card. He was AWESOME until he got hurt. The attention that Allen was getting and the pressure coming up the middle from Williams and Williams was allowing him to have a monster game. Because of the play of the line, the weaknesses in the LBs and DBs weren't exposed. Honestly, I don't think that Garrett called a bad game. They were just dominated by the Vikes D-line, plain and simple. Maybe they could have kept another guy or 2 in to block, but that would obviously limit the number of receivers out in the pattern, causing another problem...get open, because there's very few of you out there. Maybe running a few more trick/gimmick plays would have worked, but if they didn't, wouldn't you guys be that much more upset? As for running more with Jones, remember that the Vikes have had the #1 run D in the league for 3 straight years, and then were #2 this year. Running him more may have worked, but I would not have bet that it would have worked. You have to remember that the Vikes CBs are very good against the run, as well, so running the sweeps at them may not have done what it does against other teams. I was shocked at how this game played out, truthfully. I expected it to be a LOT closer than it was. The missed FGs hurt, but in the grand scheme of things, there were other areas that were bigger issues. The area where I see that Dallas needs some improvement for next year is the O-line. Weaknesses were exposed there, and a lot of it is due to age. get younger there, and I think you'll be in great shape for the next few years. My take on the late TD: Well, it was unnecessary. I'm not sure what to say about it. Stranger things have happened, and with it being the Vikes, we've seen many of them. #1 is that they have had horrible kick coverage the last couple years, though they were great on Sunday. I would have run the ball, if they were truly going to try to go for it, but at the same time, you want to try to call a successful play if you're going to do it. The game is 60 minutes long, not 57 or 58 minutes. They have to play out the entire thing. If you don't like it, then stop it. If the shoe were on the other foot, I'd be upset, but in the end, the game was still being played. If the Dallas D let up and weren't playing as hard, then would you say that they deserve their full pay for the game? Maybe Childress should have put in Jackson at that point to finish up the game. At the same time, if the game was truly over, why were Dallas starters (like Brooking) still on the field? It's just my opinion, anyways. I'm sure that if these 2 teams play next year, it will be brought up and retribution will be sought. It would just add that much more intensity to what would prove to be a good game already. |

Re: Cowboys Asylum
I don't have anything to say against the Vikings scoring that last touchdown. It's a football game and the object is to move the ball down the field until you cross the goal line.
I do find all the whining interesting especially since you don't hear any Arizona Cardinals crying about how the Saints but up 35 points in the first half. They got beat by 31 points and you just don't hear anyone crying because it was bad sportsmanship.

I am a Cowboys fan and I had no problem with the last score. These guys are professionals. If you can't handle a ass whooping you shouldn't be playing at this level.

Re: Cowboys Asylum
Depends on when, but if it were after this season, it'd be either Jackson or Rosenfels. Based on how the year went with mop up duty, I'd say it'd be Jackson. If he stays around another year, it'll depend on who's available out there.
