Re: The 5 stick problem
Guys
I think some simple clarification is needed here: 1/ photos of cigars were sent to me a few weeks ago.they were humungous files and exceptionally unclear 2/I suggested post the said box of cigars to me for authentication which was not done 3/Anything that says Clube on Davidoff is counterfeit Best MItchell |

I can't say for sure I've talked to Jeff, but I've talked to a dozen of their employees in the last few years during family and business trips and nothing about those conversations has lead me to believe I've encountered any cuban expertise in any of those shops. |

Re: The 5 stick problem
MO, I sent this exact photo to you. How is it any more clear now than it was then?
and why would i SEND you my cigars for authentication? maybe instead i should package up a few hundred dollar bills for you to authenticate? Addiction, the knowledge of the staff is irrelevant as I stated JEFF spoke for the cigars. |

Re: The 5 stick problem
this is a quote from a series of e-mails between Mitchell and myself. "As far as I can tell from your rather awful photography skills (!) the cigars look authentic."
Jeff sells a multitude of Pre-embargo cigars which he must prove to the US GOVERNMENT their provenAnce. Maybe you can check his credentials with the BATF? |

Otherwise, I'd have to go to storage and select 5 random sticks. Every smoke is special, and so is day I enjoy it. Shortly after an online-friend died, I decided to never 'save it' for a special occasion. That day may not come before I go.

Jeff can buy his preembargos at a Christies auction or from Mo. Both would provide you everything needed to prove you had pre-embargo cigars. Using either source does not make you an expert. In fact I'd say that if its not a case (as with Mo) that you recall one thing and he recalls another the fact that Mo, a well recognized expert believes the box not to be legitamate may be a clear indicator of Jeff's lack of expertise. Also did a flip through of the MRN and no mention of them there. Hope they didnt set up back to much more than the NCs they might be. |

Re: The 5 stick problem
you argue like my gf. there are no other possibilities other than what you say is correct. in which case i must be a huge liar. so i'll respond to you the same way, "you're right, honey."
the cigars were given to me. but thanks for your consideration. |

Re: The 5 stick problem
You debate like you have a complex. I never said you were a huge liar, or any liar actually. I simply disagreed with your supposition that a particular source should be considered an expert witness.
Tho given you cite MO as a source of verification and he shows up and and calls bullshit I could understand why you might think I think your a huge liar. |

Also, Davidoff is a post-embargo brand established in 1969, so no US vendor would be doing any sales of Cuban Davidoffs, therefore to suggest that they are familiar with those cigars based on sales of pre-embargo cigars is moot. We're not questioning your honesty nor that of whoever you got the cigars from, but unless you can demonstrate to us provenance and where they originated from, at this point the cigars look dubious at best. |

Re: The 5 stick problem
back to where this started:
the cigars are not fictional. they may be counterfeit, and even still, i'm gonna smoke 'em. but not fictional. i have no desire to show provenance here, because i'm not trying to sell them. |
