Looks like poetic justice for the Cards tonight...blowing a 6-0 lead an all.

Best angle yet of the Infante - Cano play at 2nd base:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JIHAzU5ylc If the Yankees had scored a run, it would have been a travesty.,.instead, it's just a footnote. Great pitching by Sanchez and Coke sealed the 2-0 series lead. Looking forward to seeing JV pitch on Tuesday.

Re: MLB 2012 Thread
I'm not going to complain about the play a second.
Yes it was a bad call, and yes, it changed the dynamic of the game, but when your team can't score a run, who cares about a bad call at second? I've never been more disgusted with this ball club, than I was yesterday! You would think they would want to go out there and win one for their captain, who more than likely picked each and everyone of their sorry asses up when they failed. Or perhaps they would want to go out and score a run or two to support their teammate Kuroda, who was pitching his heart out, on short rest, for the first time in his career. Or maybe you would think they would want to go out and score some runs because they had a tiny bit of self respect and competitiveness left inside them. I don't want to knock Sanchez, he pitched a great game, but he's not Verlander. The Yanks are certainly talented enough to hit him. Instead they go out and look like lost children out there, and Girardi, after the game, came off like a whiny little school girl.

Almost all of the Yankees post season batting averages make me cry. Maybe they aren't being paid enough?

Obviously I am rooting for the Tigers, Dom and Joe, but I take no pleasure from the individual struggles of the Yankees offense.
OK, maybe ARod a little. But it pains me to see Granderson and Cano struggling so badly.

Re: MLB 2012 Thread
Heard a stat while watching game 2. Tigers starting pitchers combined ERA in the post-season is below 1.00.
Hope it keeps dropping. About Jeter, sad to see him hurt. He's one Yankee I actually don't hate, well him and Grandy. Wish both of them all the success in the world except when they're playing the Tigers.

Re: MLB 2012 Thread
For the Yankees the series ended when Jeter broke his ankle. A-Rod has no heart and can't play in the clutch. Cano is becoming more like A-Rod when he should be more like Jeter. Too many Yankees look up to A-Rod as a team leader and that hurts the team. I really hope Cashman finds a team to trade him to this winter.

Starting pitchers have given up 5 runs in their last 48+ innings. Valverde has given up 7 runs in his last 2 1/3 innings....and the last 7 runs the Tigers have allowed.

Re: MLB 2012 Thread
Yeah Papa Grande has been terrible. Talk is they may have found a mechanical flaw that they can address. Who knows. They said the same thing about Scherzer early in the season and since then he's been fantastic.
If they feel they've addressed it, he'll be back out there at some point.

Re: MLB 2012 Thread
I'd bet money Valverde will be back out there this series. Leyland is too loyal, stubborn, and probably thinks he can't lose the roster spot in his bullpen by not playing him. It might not be in a save situation, but game 2 wasn't a save situation either.

Re: MLB 2012 Thread
I want to first guess here!
NO way should Nunez and Chavez be in the line up! Nunez should NEVER be in the field. Pure panic move by Girardi! He's sacrificing defense, and Hoping Nunez hits. And he's hoping Chavez hits too, he's 0 for 11 with 6 strike outs. Not exactly stinging the ball!! IMO, he's better off running A rod out there, and hoping he comes around. He can't win this series if the left side of the infield is Chavez and Nunez/Nix!
