For good cheap daily drinker, try St James Basket Press http://www.thewinebowgroup.com/our-b...t-press-rouge/ Excellent crowd pleasing wine for like $10 and unique in that it is made from a blend of different vintages in a solera system like Sherry wine. Bottles age fine with screw cap. Had one that was like 5 years old and was equally as fun.

Re: The Wine Thread
Heyyyyyyyyy folks.
So growing up, I always thought wine was that stuff in a big jug for $5.99. Wasn't a fan. But I moved to the middle of Wine Country, CA about 3 yrs ago, and after going tasting with friends a few times, I now appreciate wine. Drinking a Syrah from Lodi, CA right now. Wine club price is $12 and this s#it is so good, I'm gonna enter it into a blind taste test with some wine snobs I'm hanging out with later this month.

Re: The Wine Thread
My $12 Syrah got 3rd place out of 12.
I moved back down to SoCal a couple of months ago. I will miss the wine from up north. Guess I'll have to make a road trip once in a while.

I'm way late on this reply -- but no. Wasn't even aware it existed.
Did have a nice bottle of 2014 Clos du Bois cab. For short money, it was delicious. |

Re: The Wine Thread
What kind of raffle would offer obscure Champagne's like that. Neat!

TD9 by Shafer is easily a $50-60 version of the Hillside Select. Just bought a 6-pack of 2015/2016 to enjoy daily.

Man what a day, you know the flight the other day was a rollercoaster all over the place, then I get in and it's raining, having a hard time adjusting to the time change... oh wait .. sorry I thought this was the whine thread.
