Re: What beers are you enjoying?
Had a Breckenridge Vanilla Porter last night.
Didn't know what to expect, but it was really very good. The vanilla was not as subtle as I was led to believe, but it was awesome. Went really well with a cigar (an LFD that also was very good). The vanilla reminded me of Zaya Rum, which I poured a finger of afterward to make sure I wasn't imagining things. I wasn't. Also had a couple of different pumpkin beers over the weekend. My favorite (by far) was Weyerbacher Imperial Pumkin Ale. Much better than either Saranac or Smutteynose's offering. I wasn't too impressed with DFHs offering last year, but I understand they tweek the recipe every year. Maybe I'll try it again. (Not my photos) |

This quote is relevant to my interests. I only have the one bottle as well....to cellar or not to cellar....

Re: What beers are you enjoying?
Odd. Almost like a Belgian IPA, and I think the tea leaves may have given it a bit too much astringency without adding much flavor/aroma. Hops came through pretty well. Lots of sediment, like lemonade with a lot of pulp.

That reminds me of another 'white whale' of mine, the Still Nacht Reserve, never had it or even seen it. I'm sure that '03 was excellent though.

Not sure how warm it was when you drank this but i was not impressed by it cold. Once it warmed up a bit it was alot better.
