A number of these games will depend on how well players go through the African Cup, injuries may affect a few. Chelsea may be the most affected in this regard, and although I don't like Chelsea I will still be supporting them in this match up (I'm a EPL fan).

United may have an (unintended) added benefit of players out injured right now, they may be fresher physically come Feb. Same for Arsenal, IMO.

Sevilla guys sound cocky, but playing in Moscow in Feb is not a good thing for players accustomed to sunny Spain, if Russians score a couple at home they can park the bus away. Moscow is in deep freeze right now and this may turn out to be an even colder winter than last 2. German games may be affected same way.

Surprised this threads been dead for a while considering all the great matches lately. Anyone catch Chelsea and Drogba hand it to Arsenal today? Hard to watch the superbowl after a match like that.

I saw both.

However, watching the Merseyside derby yesterday was a treat for this Liverpool fan. Down to 10 men after a half hour and winning 1-0 was a huge win.

I saw that on premier league review. Looked like a helluva match. Whats the deal with Steven Gerrard? There are some rumors going around that he may be looking for a new team I guess?

On another note, I just finished reading "Moments" by Christiano Ronaldo. Great read if you are a football fan of any team. Not boring at all and very insightful. I checked it out from the library but will definitely be buying it to have at home.

For me that was the game to watch. And as much as I like Howard he should had done better.

Nice to see you 'round these parts again, Hoon.

I agree. Howard should have done better but the way Liverpool has struggled this year, I'll take the win. Would be sweet to beat the Gunners tomorrow.

My football desires are simple.

I don't want West Ham relegated.
I don't want Man U to win.
I want the U.S. or Spain to win the World Cup.

2 out of 3 are definitely doable.

There've been some good Champions league games lately......although both Real Madrid and Chelsea lost.

The friendly between US and El Salvador was a lively match too. El Salvador's goalie had some great saves until the end where it looked like he and that defender just quit.

It looked like nothing big until you saw Ramsey laying there with part of his leg dangling. The result looked bad. Two people going in two different directions collided. Ramsey lost big time. I really hope he will be ok. Not for the sake of Arsenal, but for his own health.

It looked like nothing, the ref sauntered over to Ramsay and saw his leg hanging and his eyes got big as saucers and he started flailing for the physios. THe he went and presented a red card.

I didn't have the stomache to watch any replays so I dunno if it was a bad tackle or not but I'm pretty sure the ref thought nothing of it til he saw the damage.

Unfortunate, hope he recovers quick, he's got a lotta footy years in front of him

Mistimed tackle, not a deliberate one. Although still same very bad result. And the defender (offender?) was picked for the England's team a couple of hours after the game by Capello, so obviously a very good player simply in a bad tackle.
