Re: What's the last movie you watched?
This one got shredded a page or so back, I had to disagree. The first one was just one of those movies where magic happens,
but Liza Minelli?? Are you kidding me? The new version was nothing at all like the first, but pretty good in my view. I think the addition of Luis Guzman was a brilliant shot in the dark. That is one crazy cat. Not a trove of acting talent, but he must be doing something right. All in all, I gave it a positive thumb in the up direction. |

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
True Grit - Not bad at all...Not John Wayne, but entertaining nonetheless
World's Fastest Indian - under the radar, but should not be -- thought this was a great movie |

How many of you guys NetFlix these? My collection is generally limited to NetFlix. Can we post a new rule, that you should post what media you watched said movie on, so others know where they can most easily track ti down?

Thanks dude. I know I've seen True Grit on there (have yet to watch it), but am intrigued by this "World's Fastest Indian", sounds interesting.

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
The original TRUE GRIT was a great film, but as a movie, it was saddled with the style of film-making in the 70's.
To me that's what kills the movie in a head to head battle with the 21st century film. For one, the second film is said to more closely follow the novel from which it is lifted. I wouldn't know, unfortunately. I like the color of the original better. I think the original Mattie, Kim Darby was great at speaking the language of her victorian-type upbringing, but I REALLY like the way it was done in number two. John Wayne is an icon of course, but to me the Rooster role is a toss-up. Jeff bridges is outstanding in the role. I think Matt Damon is better than Glen Campbell, but not way better. Glen Campbell seemed like a gimmick casting choice to me, a sign of the times. Tough to beat Robert Duvall in any role. I need to rewatch both and make up my mind. |

================================================== ======= And tonight I watched: Lethal Weapon, so unrealistic, but such a good movie. And. Due to my case of the Mondays: Office Space, I feel like I watch it every Monday now..

The Thing 2011, not even close to as good as the original but still worth a watch if you enjoy sci-fi/horror
