Re: NHL 2013 Thread
I thought the Avs outplayed them, but that's not the first team to do it, E.J.....somehow, they find a way. Half the abbreviated season done without a regulation loss. Just wow.

NHLPA approves NHL realignment plan Mike Brehm, USA TODAY Sports6:03p.m. EST March 7, 2013 Executive director Donald Fehr said the NHL Players' Association has given its blessing to the league's realignment plan for next season. The league, which has needed to make changes to its setup since the Atlanta Thrashers moved to Winnipeg in 2011, will go from the current six-division alignment to four. The Detroit Red Wings and the Columbus Blue Jackets would move to the Eastern Conference and the Winnipeg Jets would move west. In the Eastern Conference, Detroit would join the Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Ottawa Senators in the Central Division. Columbus would join the Carolina Hurricanes, Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins, New Jersey Devils, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Rangers and New York Islanders in the Atlantic. Winnipeg would join the Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators and St. Louis Blues in the Midwest. That leaves the Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings, Phoenix Coyotes, San Jose Sharks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks in the Pacific. Fehr said that the new setup would be re-evaluated after the 2014-15 season. "Our next step will be to bring the proposed plan for realignment to the NHL board of governors for its consideration," deputy commissioner Bill Daly said. "We will update the status of the process as future developments warrant." |

Re: NHL 2013 Thread
I'm bummed the Wings will only be in town once a season, but I understand what the league is trying to do.

Yeah I think there is a chance tonight.
Wondering if Sharks can right the ship before playoffs. Not looking good as they just cant score. Betting some big names finally get moved this summer if they dont get it together. |

Re: NHL 2013 Thread
Pens finally played some inspired hockey for half a game last night, coming back from a 4-1 deficit to beat the Flyer Scum 5-4.
In my thinking, this probably didn't save Dan Bylsma. I think he's gone this year and the only thing keeping him behind the bench is the short season. If he can't engineer his way past the built-to-beat-the-Pens Flyer Scum on a regular basis, it shows a huge weakness in his ability to coach our club. It's much the same as the Ravens building their club to get through the Steelers. They know they have to go through them to take home the hardware. They've done that successfully. The Pens haven't done that vs. the Flyer Scum. Last night they got lucky. That ain't gonna get it. We need a couple mentally deranged mucking defensemen, one of which can handle a puck. Ulf Murphy.

Re: NHL 2013 Thread
I'm in, Scott! Lucky or not, good comeback last night for the Pens.
E.J., Sharp is out for 2-4 weeks. Hossa lookis like he will go, it was rumored to be the flu. Shaw is the unknown, I was hoping he would be in and get a chance to return the cheap elbow.

Should be a good game tonight...wouldn't be suprised if there were a couple dust ups early on.
On another note Dierks Bentley who has a concert tonight in OKC skated after our pregame skate and chatted with some of the guys. Definitely a big hockey fan, even plays in an adult league in Nashville, seems like a pretty nice guy. https://twitter.com/goicehogs/status/310107303405830144 |

6 games in 9 nights, playing a mile high...Hawks are outta gas. Congrats, E.J., looks like your Boys did what no one else has been able to do in a half a season. Quite a run though, second best in NHL history. Just hoping to win the last game in late May.
