Verizon opened up a new set of price plans called "Connect", I think it's reasonable to assume these are for the Storm launch.

nope, the connect plans are only for regular vcast capable handsets.

the nationwide email plans and the 29.99 add on feature are storm compatible.

as spect and a few others on here know. i sell VZW services. you will get a better price through me than anyone else and maybe some free cigars too boot!

when AT&T's contract is up, or when we all launch LTE and can use unlocked phones. whichever comes first. i believe AT&T had a 5 year contract. though rumor has it that they are working on one but i haven't heard much buzz around it.

Thanx bro, its such a bummer. Verizon is pretty much the ONLY company that has decent reception in my area but unfortunately their phone selection is laughable and I absolutely despise the way they lock down their phones.

Sadness for the X man

i hear ya, hopefully my free storm shows up in the next few days and i will be able to give an opinion of it. i generally stick to PDA's on our system as they are usually the least controlled by VZW. soon it won't matter though as they will be doing any compatible device on our system.

i test devices for the customer council. we give feedback to VZW and are a small selected group by VZW itself.

http://vzwcustomercouncil.com

you probably won't be able to see much on that page though. it's top secret

LOL well sign me up for the council bro LOL.

Yeah it does suck as I've wanted an Iphone badly since they came out. And even more so when I went to the SoCal HERF and played with everyone's Iphone and realized how inferior my own device was.

I used to work at RIM and still have many friends that work there. I've used the Storm and have a Bold right now. I like the large screen and slick interface of the storm, but I type often and fast with my Blackberry, and the storms screen just doesn't allow of the kind of email volume I have. I typically type about 50-100 emails a day from my BB and I found the click screen difficult to type on at speed. Better than an iPhone, but not the same as a dedicated keyboard.

Bottom line, if I didn't type lots of email I'd get the Storm. The screen is sexy and interface slick, but because I'm an email fiend, I need a keyboard and the Bold works great.

Keep me posted too please! I've had a Treo 700p (actually my 2nd) after going through 4 sh!tty Treo 650p's, all in a 2-year span. So many problems with the Treo but I like the funcionality a lot so I've stayed with it. My current 700p is 'okay' but it often sticks & I have to wait for long period of times to get it to unfreeze (happens a lot when texting, I've noticed).

I'm with Dustin (LasciviousXXX)....VZ coverage is great near me and I abhore AT&T. I almost pulled the trigger on the Blackberry Pearl but have heard mixed reviews.

And I too wanted an iPhone but I hear there are some things about it (like the inability to cut & paste) that would drive me nuts.

So, I'd love to find out how the Storm stacks up against the iPhone....
