That scuttlebutt sounds like a steal at 9.0 if it is drinkable.

I've got a bomber of southern tier back burner going. I need to remember to drink barley wines more often. I've yet to find one I can't stomach.

wow Seth, Doggie Claws AND Chocolate Rain?! That sounds like a night!

ahhh Scuttlebutt. I grew up 10 minutes from Scuttlebutt(Everett) and Red Hook(Woodinville). I was never a huge fan of either, but I have heard that Scuttlebutt has improved in the last few years.

Last night I had 3 Mongo IPA from Port and 2 Alpine Nelson at the bar. Tonight it is Torpedo.

Excellent! Glad you enjoyed it, it was too smokey for me, but I have not "acquired" a taste for smokey scotch yet. I am very glad you enjoyed it and it was my pleasure.

Skullspitter Ale from Orkeny Brewery.
I got to find a local store that sells these besides buying them at the bar.

Seth... I wouldn't describe it as smoky... some decent hints of smoke, yes... but not dominated. But the old Macallans were definetly stored in ex-Sherry Casks and that's the main flavor you get... dried fruits... very creamy... and very intensive notes of roasted malt... not sure if this is the influence of the cask or a general characteristic of this beer...

Here's the tap list for tonight's Cigar City / Tequesta Brewing "takeover" of Coffee District:

From Cigar City Brewing:
Hillsborough River Dry Stout
Jose Marti East India Porter
White Oak IPA
Peach IPA
Apple Brandy Barrel Aged Zhukov’s
Oatmeal Raisin Cookie
White Oak Dry Stout
Jai Alai IPA
Maduro Oatmeal Brown
From Tequesta Brewing Company:
Der Chancellor (Kolsch)
Gnarly Barley (American Pale)
Terminally Ale (American Brown Ale)
Julios Weizen (Belgian Wit with Passionfruit and Watermelon)
Finn McCool (Irish Red)
Hoppy American Amber
Tupelo Honey Bock
Oak Aged Black IPA

Underlined the one's I'm most interested in, also heard there may be a surprise or two, we'll see, regardless it's a great line-up
