Dieu du ciel - Peche mortel
I had always seen this on the shelves, and new it was supposed to be great but I knew no french. I thought it was a peach beer. Turns out it is an imperial stout brewed with coffee. Pretty darn good, and a great surprise when I poured it |

Re: What beers are you enjoying?
This is a good IIPA, brewed with just 2 malts (2-row + white wheat) and 2 hops, Amarillo + Columbus. Amarillo has become my one of my favorite aroma hops.

Had a Great Divide Grand Cru last night. Really good, complex--I should have taken a picture, I've never seen a beer with that much ruby color

Re: What beers are you enjoying?
Last night we had a little tasting:
Arcadia Bourbon Barrel Aged Shipwreck Porter Brooklyn Black Ops '11 Founders KBS '10 Founders KBS '11 Lexington Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale De Struise Black Damnation II Mocha Bomb Founders Breakfast Stout Hopping Frog BORIS We compared these blind. I was surprised we all thought Black Ops got overshadowed and we rated the Arcadia higher than it. The KBS was tops, with the '11 at #1 despite being a tad hot and the '10 #2 having significantly less coffee flavor. |

Re: What beers are you enjoying?
I had 2010 Black Ops fresh, and 1 yr old. Much better fresh IMO. Yes it was quite warm (very hot to some..) but with a beer like that I think it goes well. I expected it to improve greatly, but it ended up being very toned down. Good, not great.
