That was a perfect hit batter for Mota. Fastball below the waist. He did not go up and in around the head. He earned respect from his teammates after they got hit twice the inning before. It is all part of the game.

Giants and Reds start a 3 game series tonight, Bailey and Timmy are starting out. This will hopefully be 3 easy wins, I'll be at the game Sunday when Matt Cain starts.

And what is up with Mike Lowell? I remember him as a decent 3-rd baseman when he was with my Yankees, but he has the range of a statue now. Did that surgery lame him that much, or does he just not care anymore?

The joint damage that led to the surgery did slow him up that much. He still cares as much as any player in baseball. How much of an impression of him could you get in 8 games, 3 started when he was with the Yankees in 1998?

Yankees got lucky last night. Joba had nothing last night. Luckily Smoltz had even less.

None of the Yankees pitchers were good. We gave up twelve walks!

Now THAT was a game! A-Rod picked a good time to end that home run drought
