always always mil-spec. There are more stocks out there for mil-spec if you decide to change your stock out one day.
P.S. I'd NEVER marry anyone not pro-gun. Period. Sleep with...well that's different. |

Re: First Firearm Thread.
mine will come around. she's never been exposed to a RESPONSIBLE gun owner before (quite the traumatic opposite, but that's another story). She's willing to give me a shot with them, and when she sees the pleasure that the hobby brings to me, and that it's not actually dangerous when used properly.. and in fact it is very empowering to her own security.. yeah, I think she'll come around. But since I already have "enough" guns, she's going to have to come around a long ways before new purchases are authorized, lol

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Ok help me out guys.
Buy a midlength free float rail for my midlength AR and keep the front sight. OR Buy a 15" free float rail, cut the front sight and then buy a flip up sight? |

Re: First Firearm Thread.
I vote for the 15" rail. Not much extra weight, and lots more to hold on to, plus gives you a slightly extended irons sight picture. But that's just me. The dissy style never bothered me, always looked practical.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
well, not sure the color you want, but if you want a BLACK 15" alpha, I picked one up from Brownells last month and won't be using it, just waiting to get boxed up and sent back sometime next week.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
too much to do, too little time to do it!
Now it looks like my computer is acting up enough that I gotta reload this morning... in time to get a photo project done and to the printer in the afternoon... Might have to cancel 11am salsa lessons....
