Kentucky and Temple about to close out their respective wins, and Duke taking control over Miami in 2nd half. Illini trying to smash Buckeyes' dream, and building a bit on lead in the 2nd.

Final: Temple 57 - Rhode Island 44 = The Owls did not need to advance to the A-10 Finals to get a bid, but likely the Rams did. We'll find out tomorrow.

Halftime: Morgan State 29 - South Carolina State 24 = A close one so far for the Mid-Eastern automatic.

Kentucky 74 - Tennessee 45 = 'Cats get some revenge and spank the Vols like they've too seldomly spanked people so far this season. Did Cal finally get these kids to pay attention for the whole game, or did the Vols just purely suck that bad? Not having seen the game, I'll leave it to one of you to tell me the facts . . . as long as you're not a Wildcat fan.

Oh, and Ohio State's finally woken up, and has grabbed a 9-point bulge over Illini with 7+ to play. Dook a dozen over 'Canes now, and getting late there too.

Yes indeed, Travis. And considering the whuppin' the Jayhawks gave them 10 days ago, they'd better show up early if they want to stay late.

OSU/Illinois going into OT, tied @ 66. Duke hitting freethrows, and about to end Miami's miracle run.

Duke 77 - Miami 74 = So the Blue Devils do what they needed to keep a #1-seed, but it was harder than they wanted, and than I thought it would be. So now we have 3 of the 4: KU, UK, and Coach K. Now we'll have to wait for that OT to end before we hazard a pick for the final slot.

Sorry, I was wrong, again. We'll have to wait until the end of the 2nd OT.

Georgia Tech 69 - Maryland 64 = And I suppose Jerry should thank the Jackets for taking out the Terps for him. This will not keep Maryland out of the NCAAs, but it just might have gotten Tech off the bubble for good.

That's why we watch the games.

And I hope you enjoy it, my friend. Hell, I'll even hope you get another crack at Dook this year! At the very least, it will insure the Old North State will take the ACC . . . for a change.

Yes, that's it. Ohio State 88 - Illinois 81 (2OT) = The Illini fought hard, and proved to me they deserve an at-large. And had they won, they would have made things easier for the Committee, since that would have convinced them to let Syracuse keep that last #1-seed . . . you know, the one they tried to p!$$ away in their opening-round loss in the Big East Tourney. But now they'll have to wait until the Big Ten championship game, for if the Buckeyes beat the winner of the Purdue/Minnesota game they will have to decide which one gets that seed, while the other gets the top #2-seed. Yet it's just bragging rights anyway . . . after all, following the S-Curve seatings, that would mean that OSU/'Cuse would be slated to meet for the Regional Final in either case, so what's the freakin' diff?

Oh, by the way, Morgan State took the Mid-Eastern, beating South Carolina State 68-61. Me, I don't care, but maybe you do.

Vandy/Miss State and Xavier/Richmond both the tight wars you'd expect, late in the first. And NCSU/GT just off to a sloooow start. But since I'm leaving soon, and won't be back until Monday afternoon, I'm gonna close up my end now.

Feel free to update your own team's scores in my absence, brothers, and go ahead and make your picks if you wish. Hell, I don't mind having most of the fun, but why should I do all the work? So until I see you here later . . . enjoy.
