Fans lined up as early as 5:30 a.m. for the Mets' open auditions to sing the national anthem on Opening Day 2014.

Hey...gotta have something to look forward to on opening day.

Chris Young?? Really?? He had a terrible few years in Oakland. Another past his prime veteran. At least we didn't sign him to a multi year deal.

I really thought we were gonna go after Jhonny Peralta. Card just signed him to a 4 year, $ 52 million deal. I didn't think he'd get that much after the steroid thing. Guess we're gonna go after Drew. Just what we need...another "all glove-no bat" shortstop. But hey...anything's better than Tejadas lazy a$$.

Sounds like your Mets are using my Twins' strategy of signing arms that are were good 5 years ago, coming off injury or looking to rebound. I don't think the Twins will sign a pitcher unless he is coming off Tommy John. Heard rumors around here about us going after Santana for some reason!

Mets agreed to terms on a two-year, $20 million pact with right-hander Bartolo Colon. Not sure about this one...two more years for this past his prime pitcher? Can he stay healthy? Why give him two years? We did need help in the pitching staff...not sure this is the answer.

My gut reaction...another bonehead move by my Mets.

(hoping he proves this Mets fan completely wrong)

Yeah, I loved it when the Yankees signed him too. I then learned to like it, then accept it, then think "Ehhhh" when he left.

Still, he's an improvement for the Mets outfield . . . if that says much.

Mets sign Taylor Teagarden to a minor league contract...for what? He hit .167, 2 HRs and had 5 RBIs last year. Spent almost a month and a half on the DL...that must be the reason.

Until we get rid of this Little League management, we are not going to win.
