Re: First Firearm Thread.
I have an extra FULL lower parts set, but no extra buffer
From my internet readings, def. avoid UTG, too soft a metal, treads strip and deform too easy.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Pete you just needing the buffer tube? If you need a whole lower build kit, PSA has two in stock that I know of for a good price. Brand doesn't really matter as long as it's a reputable company, all those listed are g2g except UTG.

I'm thinking of picking up a .45 at the local gun shop. They have quite a few in stick from Smith & Wesson, Sig, Remington, Citadel and others...

Thinking about picking up a black powder pistol...
Probably not very good for CCW though.

I definately think I will need to use an Alaskan cross-chest holster for it though...

Re: First Firearm Thread.
M&P 15-22, SlideFire stock, JP "yellows" lightened trigger springs, Sightmark red dot, GSG offset irons.
In semi auto, it shot through 50 rounds of 10 year old Remington bulk ammo, the pinnacle of crappy ammo, without a single hitch. In slide fire, it didn't like the Remington. It would load the round, but it wouldn't go bang, not sure the exact cause, I'll experiment a bit later. Ran through CCI .22LR Tactical ammo (the stuff designed for 15-22 rifles) in slidefire with narry a hiccup. I'm glad the $10 JP yellow trigger springs worked, beats buying a $200 3lb single stage drop in trigger I have a $30 DPMS muzzle brake to put on it that redirects all the gas straight forward and presumably would increase recoil slightly to aid with slidefire. But if it keeps functioning flawlessly as it is now with the stock flash hider, I'll probably just send it back to midway. (click for larger)

Re: First Firearm Thread.
not too bad in this market
I've got 1200 rnds of IMI m193 coming in from wideners next week. paid .50 a round for it, shipped. Figure if I can sell 1000 rnds of PMP for .80 a round and clear .72/rnd after fees, I'll be ahead of the game

Re: First Firearm Thread.
just keep in mind that ammo doesnt ship cheap and it has to go to a UPS hub to ship, UPS store won't do it. make sure you declare it and get the proper ORM-D on the package

Re: First Firearm Thread.
mmm, HUB ONLY ehh... I'll have to check, I'm pretty sure there's one 5 minutes from the UPS store I go to normally... I found what they're calling a "UPS Customer Center" on the camp... only open from 4pm-6pm on weekdays, sounds promising...
Same story with guns I take it? Hub only? Maybe I'll wait to list the ammo till I check tomorrow.....

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Not sure on guns. Those may have to go USPS of some sort. The reason the ammo has to go UPS ground is because of the HAZMAT issues with flying it. Might wanna try listing the ammo and guns on armslist or something similar locally to save on having to ship it and stuff.
Cancelled my order with Grafs for 200rds of 7.62x54R and bought this instead http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=A76254B

Re: First Firearm Thread.
nice pickup there, looks like it's in awesome shape
I never did get a Mosin... mmm, hazmat... lol, cuz the ammo is going to spontaneously combust under the altitude change, lol.... Good suggestion for armslist, can always try there... I'm guessing there's more suckers on gunbroker though

Re: First Firearm Thread.
It's 1970s manufacture but yeh it's packed in those hermetically sealed spam cans, **** stays in amazing shape. Thats why i like how my 200rds of 5.56 came in that battle pack. Sealed thick plastic. I could put it in my toilet tank to hide it if i want
