Little grocery store by me is going out of business and all the beer is 30% off.

Saw a Laughing Dog Godfather Stout for $6.

I passed.

I bought 1 6 pack of the Bell's Expedition Stout a few days ago. Bought another 2 6 packs yesterday to put away for a year(or more). Both have a batch number of 9971. This is a beer worth aging.

Bourbon Barrel Heine Brothers Coffee Stout

Thanks Tom.

This is a tasty beer. I wish it was a tad more thicker but there are plenty of flavors but it's odd that you don't always taste them. Some sips I seem to taste more coffee others I get more vanilla. The bourbon barrel flavor is almost overpowering but not bad.

1 out of 5
I would give this a 3. I just wish it was a tad thicker for what it was.

Might bump it down a bit. As it warms up there isn't much of a change to it.

Spending the weekend in Potosi WI. We visited the Potosi brewery. The beer is good. I had had it in Madison in bottles. It is significantly better on tap at the brewery. I think the pasteurization process changes the flavor in the bottles. I have particularly enjoyed their IPA and Stout. On tap at the brewery those are very good beers. Full of flavor and nuance. A nice treat. We had brought Avery Barleywine, Imperial Stout and IPA as well as some Dogfishhead 90 min to have back in the inn. All in all lots of tasty beer.

I gotta try the Avery Barleywine.

Right now Bob the downtown Great Dane has a 2008 Barleywine on tap which is pretty tasty.

Been trying to get more into wines lately. Mainly, led by the wife. Mostly Cab and Pinot.

Did have some fantastic stuff in vegas (company sales meeting). Silver Oak, Jordan, Nickel & Nicklel And some Cakebread. All were fantastic, but all are way out of my price range.

No Screaming Eagle or Opus One? I say that just because there "Cali Cult" wines.
