Re: Packer fan thoughts
That's no call for poor tackling. You have to wrap him up with lower arms and body...

Re: Packer fan thoughts
Peterson's lateral quickness makes it difficult to get solid body contact on him, and his strength makes it tough to bring him down with an arm tackle. This makes tackles that would otherwise be "good" into poor, or missed tackles. Thus, Peterson makes the tackling poor.

Damn, this a hell of a game. I thought the Vikes were going down in flames after the Pack tied it up, but they put the pressure on with that last score!

Left during the 2nd Qrt to go see The Hobbit in 3D with the wife. Daughter was texting me with one of the scores when the Vikes were up 20-17 at some point. Guess I missed a close one this afternoon. Vikes 37-34 over the Pack. Drops the Pack down to #3 seed in the playoffs. Vikes come to Lambeau next week?

Re: Packer fan thoughts
Great game. Surprisingly, I'm not really all that disappointed....for a couple/few reasons....
1. Bears are done 2. I'm far more confident about next week's game. 3. I think we need a week of game-work more than a week off 4. Bears are done |

Re: Packer fan thoughts
Arm tackles have never been considered good tackles. You didn't read what I said. Adrian Peterson's lateral speed and agility make it more difficult to get solid body contact. This causes what would be a good tackle on 99% of RB's into an arm tackle, not a good tackle. This is why he leads the league in yards after contact.

Re: Packer fan thoughts
I must admit, I am not all that confident, even in Lambeau, that the Packers can beat the Vikings - or anybody else. The defense is definitely not up to snuff.
A few years ago, everybody said how good the defense was. They were not. They allowed more yards running and passing than just about anybody else. They were however, great in takeaways. While that is nice, you cannot depend on takeaways to win games, they may not happen. That approach is to rely upon the weaknesses of other teams offenses. This year we cannot stop anybody consistently, and the number of takeaways being generated isn't helping. I don't see myself as a pessimist (although that is the label my sons have given me). I am trying to be honestly critical though, and maybe it might be a bit over-critical. But, I'd rather be surprised than disappointed.
