Finally!!! Randy's Humidor

We waited a long time for this quilted maple to get in.... used every bit of what I had.... talk about measuring twice, cutting once..... Quilted maple is getting harder and harder to get....

Quilted Maple & Walnut
19.5" x 15.5" x 14"
600 Count

Still have to make a few dividers for the trays.... but, otherwise, she's done...

Wow those are great, I love the tray systems. I would imagine something like this is out of my price range. Beautiful work!

Finally! She looks awesome Ed... the only thing that will make her look better is seeing it in my HOUSE! Thanks for making it such a fun process... all of the picture updates have made it truly a great time for me to watch as the humidor came to fruition.

Thanks for all the hard work... I can't wait to get it seasoned and in use...

Thanks again Ed!

I guess this is what I see... either this or some viking warrior with a winged helmet. Definitely something more badass... but it's my humidor so I probably just don't want to see a puppet in it.

Ed, I hope I'm not asking you to give away some trade secrets, but I have a couple questions:

Where do you order your woods? Locally or Online? I'm having trouble finding the Spanish Cedar locally.

Where do you order your barrel hinges from? I keep finding references to nice ones in the UK, but I was hoping for something I wouldn't need to import.

Fantastic work all around. I keep coming back to this thread for inspiration. I gave up woodworking many years ago for a career in IT...trading one talent for another. I'm hoping making myself some humidors will get me back into the swing of making nice boxes. (shopping for a drum sander and dust collector now in fact!)
