We've known for a while Howard wasn't very good. Ozzie is going through another mental breakdown is what it seems like.

Letting Conklin go is really going to hurt us during the regular season. Ozzie can't be relied on for a whole season. He needs to be platooned until the playoffs start.

Letting Conklin go was probably a mistake, though I don't know the Wings' salary cap considerations.

Ozzie does have a pretty proven track record in the playoffs, hard to argue with that.

Thrashers have to go on the road to start winning again. A 50 save game for Pavelec against Ottawa. If anyone gets a chance to watch the highlights, there are some amazing saves on there. It took a 2-man advantage for them to even get their one goal.

They lost to Nabby and the Sharks also.
The Sharks have been playing well finally. Looks like maybe things are finally starting to click. Heatley is doing exactly what they brought him in to do. Marleau is having a typical Pattie season, Super solid. Hoping with the preasure on Heatley in the playoffs maybe he will do well this year in the post season.

Sharks showed a lot of grit yesterday. The first goal by Sutter for Carolina did not even have a chance to be celebrated before the Sharks found the back of the net. Carolina looks lost at this point. Alas, alas.

Yeah I saw that but didnt want to say anything. They do look a little rough right now. Given the pieces are still there and they made a deep run last year I believe it will come back around. The old saying you cant keep a good dog down.

Joe, it seems that every time the Hurricanes make it deep into the playoffs, they miss the playoffs the following season. Is there any discussion of this in the Carolina media?

Sorry for your pain...I had about 15 years of it without a break with the Hawks.

Man the Sharks are bad news for other teams stars. First Kovalchuck gets hurt in a game against them, now one of the Stall in Carolina.

TONS of discussion... just no answers!
Everybody has the attitude, "What the heck is going on?!"

Chuck Kaiton, long-time radio broadcaster (goes back through the Whaler's days) said he has not seen anything like this with this franchise since 1982. All the peices are there... looks good on paper... deep run into last year's playoffs... and just stinkin' up the ice.

Lots of pride and veteran presence on the ice - but it sure is not showing. 'Canes fans are trying not to panic, but 13 points back from first on the Southeast this early in the season is scary.

Plus now I heard Staal is injured? That can't help, Joe.

Yotes lost to the Kings tonight but in their defense Labarbiedoll was in the net and let in some bad goals as well as a little poor puck handling.

Anyone noticed the Islanders are moving up the standings? Watched the highlights of tonights game and they got the win, but in part do to lucky bounces. I love how Roloson is still drawing interfernece calls when his ass leaves the crease. Thought they stopped giving away those freebies.
