Columbo - Mystery Movie Collection (1989) Peter Falk is a DVD set featuring the full-length TV movies featured on the ABC Mystery Movie series back in the '80s. http://www.amazon.com/Columbo-Myster.../dp/B000MV9OMM And Columbo's got a cigar--er, dog rocket--in every movie!

This has got to be relevant in some way...
"Close, but no cigar" is widely used to signal a near miss. The earliest instance of its use anyone has found is in the 1935 film Annie Oakley, which has the line "Close, Colonel, but no cigar!"
