But I will never consider anything that needs pencil drawings to tell the story a novel. Still there is an audience for everything, how else could professional wrestling still be making millions?

You may wish to investigate the influence on culture and modern literature that is the legacy of the comic book, graphic novel, etc. Whoever granted you your degree was remiss in this area. I'm headed back to reading about quantum mechanics and m-theory. The book has pictures and diagrams, so I must be a moron for reading that tripe.

Re: Superman renounces US citizenship
It isn't a textbook, it is a novel and while it mentions superman and has a drawing of a car that could be Speed Racer, it doesn't have The Green Lantern. Sorry to disappoint.

As long as this didn't take place within the Star Wars universe, it doesn't bother me!
BTW: I am dyslexic and struggled through elementary school. Marvel and DC comics helped me discover the enjoyment of reading. I am the only person in my family to graduate from college. I now work in higher education.

As far as the Superman issue goes, it's not as big an issue as everyone's making it out to be. He renounced his citizenship to stop Iran from declaring war on the US. I'm willing to bet Clark Kent didn't renounce his citizenship. I know that we all grew up with Superman fighting for truth, justice, and the AMERICAN WAY, but he's a global icon and those of us morons who still read comics and graphic novels know that he saves the world (and the universe on occasion) many times over, not just the US.

Nope, all the parts now are written for Ryan Reynolds or Bradley Cooper.
