Gas grill recomendations - Page 2

My next gasser will be a Weber. They make great products and their customer service is excellent!

I have managed to squeeze out 5 or 6 years from my $300 Char Broil, but it's almost completely rusted thru.

I have a charcoal one too, and actually am hoping to get a fire pit grill built in the next few years. But I do like just coming home late at night firing up the grill and having a sausage cooked in a few minutes.

So an update on the grill, after modifying the old grill I was able to get the replacement burner to fit, so for right now I am not going buy a grill, but will probably be looking at the end of the season for close out sales.

I have been very happy with Brinkmann over the years. I grill quite frequently and love the one I have. I got it at Lowes in the offseason a while back and it was discounted 50% off. Been working like a champ ever since.

Todd...randomly check out Lowes or HD..sometimes they put up clearance items and mix them in with regular priced stuff.

Got to go with the Weber Genesis gas grills. Mine has 5 years on it, but the burner is starting to act crazy. Best time to buy is the end of summer as the days start getting colder. Grills and lawnmowers are cheaper then. I seriously thought about leaving the gas world for the charcoal world on my next purchase. I'm seriously considering a medium Big Green Egg or maybe a large one. A local butcher shop smoked a turkey for 12 hours and it was magnificent. I see them on Craigslist from time to time.

I have a weber charcoal and if I get a gas grill I will probably look at a Napoleon Prestige I P450. Cant beat the flavor of charcoal though

Chip would you know if the Kamado grill is the same as the Green Egg by any chance?

Very similar, but Kamado is a LOT more $$. Mainly because they are a helluva lot prettier. Outside of that, I do not think there is much difference.

Love my Char-Griller. I first started using them for my smoker, but my wife doesn't like the time it takes for charcoal (blasphemy!). I got her a gas one from Char-Griller and it has been fantastic.

Cool thanks. I have some of the coconut charcoal they make and I was just wondering. I like the Green Egg more anyways.

I have never tried the coconut charcoal. Mainly because the reviews on Naked Whiz are pretty bad. I use the Royal Oak from Wally World.

I don't use it much either. I use Royal Oak that I buy in 40lb bulk and wicked good charcoal but thats super hard to find around here. The Coconut charcoal is a PITA to get started.

Royal is about the highest rated on Naked Whiz. They make the BGE charcoal too. Good stuff.
