I've got a pretty modest humi, so for me 25 is a lot. I've actually only got 2 boxes, and then maybe 60 loose sticks

Just started out, running a tupperdor. 25 of one stick is a lot to me, although I can understand how having 3 boxes is good for the regular smoke (that is what I do with my beer after all). Hoping to pickup some samplers and try new sticks before I start buying boxes.

I have between 150-200 each of specific sticks. Some sticks smoke stellar and can be found at a good price as well as age nice. To me, picking up known good sticks for a good price beats the usual crap shoot hands down.

1 months + shipping/shopings time worth (usually 3-5 ea) for my favorties. Loose usually is not more than 1 or 2.

Since I smoke no more than 2 a week, more than 50 total is A LOT for me at anyone time. After than I usually start to find people to smoke them with and bring the number down.

I am a creature of habit and usually don't branch out unless somebody suggests a new one. Then if I like it, it will go into the rotation.

Where is the option for ... Over 5% of the known world supply?

I think the most I own of any cigar is 8-900. Party shorts through the years.

Aside from cost being a factor I am relatively new to cigars (smoking them for years but only now thinking about what I smoke) so I want to sample things. More than 10 of any cigar would be a lot for me. I don't currently have more than 5 of any one smoke. I will buy a box once I find something I want to be a more everyday smoke.

I think over 100+ is a lot. My thinking is that you can go through a cab of 50 in no time smoking, gifting, and trading them through the 'normal course' of events (say in a year). Having two cabs of one cigar, one to do the above with, and the other to age, is a 'good' amount.
More than that and you enter into "a lot" IMO. Not saying "a lot" is bad, it's good, but less than 100 can go very quickly. Not too many cigars I can say I have "a lot" of, wish there were more but I value variety at this point a little more than quantity (that's changing though).

I didn't actually think we could accommodate your choices her Klugs so I left the 5% or more category out.

What we fail to recognize is that Addiction's definition of a box = a master case.

But I would say "a lot" is anything over 2 boxes. For the various reasons the previous posters have mentioned.

Pretty much what he said... I have a few things I possess more than 4 boxes of, but I can hardly bear to purchase only one box of things... I always try for a double so I can stash one.

My Humi only holds about 100 cigars so any more than 1 box of anything is too much for me, plus I only smoke 2 or 3 cigars per week

It's rare for me to have more than one box of any one cigar -- I don't have that much space right now. I also tend to go for a wider variety of cigars rather than a quantity of a specific cigar.

Having said that, I have purchased mutiple boxes of a brand (Perdomo, Nub, Oliva, etc.) at one time.

Hmmmm

I have actually looked as opposed to my first off the cuff answer.

Seems I have 200+ of 4 diff kinds and 100+ in about 6 others the remainder are a box or box plus a partial.

There are very few that I only have a box of. I have a hard time opening a box if I don't have another one sitting and aging.

Like Dball I like to get 2 at a time.

......
Thats close to my answer, except for me its like 4 where I have somewhere between 100-150, another 4 parked right at 100 and then a few things with smatterings of this and that. I think the most I've ever owned of a cigar is 100, that was Punch RS12s but I smoked through the majority of those.

For me I try to have a box open for smoking and a box for aging. This fits my budget and how much I smoke. I only get a chance for about a cigar per week during the winter and probably 3-4 during the summer. If I had more money and smoked more I'd definitely keep a lot more around.

Well since I found out he posted thsi question without my knowledge, I'll try to clarify

Bry has 2 CAB's(50 cigars) of the Bolivar Colosales, the German RE. $$

Personally, I consider 2 cab's a pretty good amount, but when you start to gi high in price and somewhat rare/hard to find....I believe this equal A LOT for this cigar.

I have multiple boxes, but of different cigars. If I find a *GREAT* on a particular cigar then I may buy more than one box. But I don't buy cigars and put them up to age.

However, if I had known what was going to happen, I'd have bought cases of boxes of my favorites in the late 80s early 90s. An now, I could be flush and even helping to supply some to you all today.

Peace of the Lord be with you.
