I believe he is referring to Navy Pier.

Re: Weekend In Chicago: What to do?
I highly suggest meeting up with Tom for a day filled with Gurkhas. I wasn't able to, unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts, but will make it a point to do so next time I'm there. Hopefully it's sooner than the five years it took me to get back this time.

I hear Jimmy Figs is a bar that allows smoking.
They bought the adjacent building and use the basement as the smoking place. You can pass through to it using a stairwell, but you have to migrate you beverages to a plastic cup. |

Re: Weekend In Chicago: What to do?
Mike Ditka's restaurant at the Tremont Hotel has a really good steak, he has his own line of cigars too. I bought one last time I was there it didn't blow me away but neat to add to one's stash.

Re: Weekend In Chicago: What to do?
Oh man, how did I miss this thread? Sounds like you're having a great time in Chicago. I think the temps are supposed to push into the 50's today so you might want to think about the Chicago Architecture Boat Tour.
The Italian Village gets my vote for a place to eat. If you don't see what you're looking for on the menu just ask them to make if for you (I've never been denied). When cigar manufacturers or guys from Cigar Aficionado come to the shop the boss always goes to the Italian Village with them. We'd love to have you stop by the shop if you get a chance. We're in the lobby of the Chicago Board of Trade building on the corner of LaSalle and Jackson. The toll free number here is: 888-733-5225 If you need directions or anything please feel free to give me a buzz. Take care, Eric |

Re: Weekend In Chicago: What to do?
While you are in town, you have to check out the field museum. It is my favorite and I go every year and still find new things.
Also, the festival is alway nice. You have to get there an hour or two early to see anything. Once the first 15 minutes go by, the floats start to become really dull really fast. All that matters is when the fireworks go off and the lights turn on. |

Re: Weekend In Chicago: What to do?
Went to JAck Schwartz today and met Eric, A super great guy BTW, He hooked me up with an LFD El Museo, one of Litto's premier sticks. I was speechless.
Picked up a couple of padrons and a LGC and then the wife and i went shopping. Wish i could have stuck around the shop for a while. We also went to navy pier and ate at Billy Goats, Heck of a meal! Earlier we went on the architectual cruise as well as a cruise of the harbor. Finally we ended up going around Millenium park. And now we are meetign some friends we made on our honeymoon for dinner. Any good bars in the North Michigan area that dont cost an arm and a leg?
