Now he's got a place to hold his fishin pole this summer while slurping down beers with both hands.

It's a little old (6/04/2009), and was actually from a shotgun.

Was that a 20 Guage then? Because I would have thought a 12 would have taken off more than that. Regardless, the first rule my Dad taught me about guns was loaded or not you dont point at yourself or another human unless you are fully committed to pull the trigger. Just goes to show, never underestimate stupidity.

I've seen too much carnage. This was minor. Just a flesh wound.
Now the guy that got eaten by the grisly bear... that was more than a flesh wound!
(search for it if you dare)

Jeff Cooper’s
FOUR
RULES
of
GUN
SAFETY

RULE 1: All guns are always loaded.

RULE 2: Never let the muzzle cover anything you
are not willing to destroy.

RULE 3: Keep your finger off the trigger until your
sights are on the target.

RULE 4: Be sure of your target. (Know what it is, what it is in line with it,
and what is behind it. Never shoot at anything you have not positively identified.)

No mechanical device has a will of its own. A gun never “goes off” unless something causes it to do so. The aspect of safety is central to gunhandling.
Memorize the four principles of firearm safety. Treat them with absolute seriousness. Burn them into your consciousness.

Pretty hard for a shotgun to not have taken off the whole foot. Hard to believe.
