It is always sad when a great player fades. I am sorry he is "gone", sorry for all his health issues, and sorry he never got the fullest opportunity to turn his HoF career into one for the ages, as he had the skills to do so.


But I am most sorry that I never saw him in pinstripes. No offense intended to Seattle or Cincy fans, but let's be honest: Jr. was MADE for Yankee Stadium.

He was easily my favorite player. Not a Mariners fan, but I liked to see him play. I'll miss him. Read several good articles today about his retirement.
