I'd just like to say that every speeding ticket that I ever received, I deserved. There have been many, many times when I could have received an expensive high speed driving award but did not.
Officers have discretion within certain bounds. Whether you benefit or not, it never hurts to be nice to the officer, or anyone for that matter.
