Hotel has a very short skip street behind it and there is the beach. If you want to mingle, go down a bit walking and you will be where the locals go, by the peer.

Here is how close beach is.
Open gate from pool, cross short street, there you are. http://www.google.com/search?q=embas...MPsOyiiHejIsM: We go there all the time and park where you see those vehicles. Sucky beach. http://www.google.com/search?q=embas...45L9DlH3ZYVqM:

There's lots of parking at public beaches, I know the area Carlos is talking about well. There's a big public beach parking lot next to JBs restaurant.

Re: So Fla Help ASAP
any experience with the hotel i posted a few posts up?
I did indeed find that one but since we are going to stay 2 nights on a whim it'll be too much once you thrown in the gas and food and such.

Never been to the hotels in the area, but it looks pretty nice, does it have good reviews? I don't see reviews on the mobile site

Still looking though.

Hey guys how is the Hollywood, FL area? South of Ft Lauderdale, north or North Miami Beach. Looking at the Crowne Plaza there. That area safe?

As far as general area, all have a semi tough area between 95 and the water but once on the barrier/beach side, all is good. Hollywood Beach is small but neat. Great Argentinian steakhouse if still there, right on the water.

Re: So Fla Help ASAP
Ok guys, the hotel I was looking at in Hollywood sold out of avail rooms at the rate I was going for.
Just booked our room in Ft. Lauderdale at the Bahia Mar A Doubletree by Hilton. 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33316 I'll talk with the wife and discuss meet up times. Can anyone recommend a Cuban restaurant in that area or another area? My wife LOVES Cuban food. Thanks

Re: So Fla Help ASAP
Carlos mentioned Little Havana cuban restaurant in his first post, it's in Deerfield Beach. If Carlos recommends it, that's the place to go for great Cuban food.
