Re: Adult Softball
Played two games Friday night. Won one and lost one. Had a little rain delay. Gets interesting when the ball is wet. Then subbed yesterday and we won. Good times.

Re: Adult Softball
This is per player, at a city park, this also includes all of the umpire fees. The ump fees, are as high as the league fees.

Re: Adult Softball
The softball league out here is 75 bucks a person I think. Its then 3 dollars to get into the park.
Replica MLB stadiums. http://www.bigleaguedreams.com/

I keep telling myself that I am. It's once a week for 5 months. so it's really not that bad. I pay 165 every 10 weeks to play hockey.

Re: Adult Softball
I play 3 nights a week here in Miami. I play C, and D ball, which are very competitive leagues and tournaments. Shaved bats are a big problem down, to the point where if you arent using them, you arent competing! Our league fees for 10 games and playoffs are usually $500-$550. Tournaments are $250-$300, but most upper level teams have sponsors.

I had a teammate who acquired a shaved Miken Recoil that I tried out once just to see what the big deal was. I didn't like it, but probably had a lot to do with the flex handle. Myself, I rolled my bats. When I quit playing I had three bats in my bag; the original Rip-It Reaper ASA (could drop serious bombs with this bat), Easton Synergy Extended SCX3 and a Easton SCN9 Stealth. Got the Stealth by trading a Worth JH Mutant 98, cause I just couldn't stand the flex handle. |

Softball bat collecting is a crazy subculture. Just like cigar smoking, if one finds a particular smoke you especially enjoy AND it's a limited run, it's not unheard of for someone to track down a dozen boxes for future use. Same thing with softball bats. There's guys that I know that still to this day have half a dozen brand new SCN3's, and those were released five, six years ago? These older bats are in higher demand because they're still ASA compliant, yet have a lot more pop in them due to the ASA a couple of years ago forcing manufacturers to comply with the 98 MPH regulation after a bat is, "broken in", not prior. Really can't speak for bats from this year, but I know the ones I hit that were made in '09 & '10 felt like logs compared to their predecessors. |

Played two tonight and both. Ended up with a triple and double in the first game. Then it was down hill in the second game. One single and a couple of pop outs. At least they were in the outfield.

Re: Adult Softball
I played last night. Man my coed team sucks! Got 20 run ruled again, Making us 0-7. I am in a slump. Through the first 4 games, I was 8 for 9,the next 4 games I am 1 for 9 with 3 walks though. I am hitting dead center, To the warning track on a 300ft field. Just a little to much air under them. I can't seem to get out of the hitting slump.
On the other hand, My fielding has been great. I pitch and play first. Last night, at first, People were pulling my way.. Lots of action and a dive to stop it. The other team thought I was 'real good' so I heard them say. I told them, I'm not that good, I am just having a good game. |

We lost our playoff game last week 24-23 in the 7th. Worst part was we lost due to time limit. Home team was batting when time ran out. Here's an action pic from a tournament a few months back with my baby. Easton CNT+
