All the Princess Cruise ships I've been on have Cigar Lounges. Are they planning on closing those also?

I don't plan my trips around smoking cigars...so I don't get the reason to boycott something.

I agree as much as the next guy, I do enjoy a cigar when on vacation, but it's not the end of the world if I can't. I didn't book the trip to smoke a cigar in a different location.

Anyways, I was on Princess last winter and they had a cigar lounge on it. I went to it a few times. It was dead in there whenever I went. I could only imagine it getting busier if they ban smoking. But then again I do believe there were designated smoking areas on the boat.

Good point! And if the cigar lounge gets busier, it'll be a good way to meet some new cigar smokers to shoot the breeze with.

In the casino on princess and on every other line you can smoke anything you want in the casino.

Anyways, as far as Princess is concerned, my last princess I smoked on the aft deck. No smoke went up to any cabins and there is not too much wind back there. I even asked the officers about it and they said "its technically not allowed, but no one will tell you to stop unless there are complaints." There were crew all around while I smoked and no one said a word. Since the smoke was shooting out behind the fantail at 24 knots no one complained and I smoked there for 14 days.

The view from the aft deck when underway is great, by the way.

I wouldn't say I boycott places that don't allow smoking if i'm going on vacation. but if I have a choice I'd rather pick a place that allows smoking over one that doesn't all things being equal....or in the case of my honeymoon an assload cheaper

Looks like I'll just give the Princess the ax. Feeble attempt to drain one of more money, it's what all the travel industry is trying to do...milking.
