I'm not rolling in piles of cash either, but I think its good to at least try everything once, better to regret smoking something than to regret not smoking something.

Re: The biggest waste of money cigar for 2009
Funny how one man's meat is another man's poison. I loved the Camacho Liberty 2009. My biggest disappointments are both popular smokes, and I've loved EPCs earlier work, but I have had rotten luck with both the LGC Artesanos de Miami and the new EP Carillo Edicion Inaugural.

Re: The biggest waste of money cigar for 2009
now that I'm giving it some thought, I didn't have any cigars this year that were God awful or hideously overpriced.
biggest disappointment? Cabaiguan It was not a bad cigar at all and I smoked the whole thing. It was just sooo mild that I couldn't get enough flavor for my tastes, and I like mild cigars. It didn't help matters that my expectations were sky high based on the universally positive feedback regarding this line. |

Ashton VSG I received them in trades or PIF's and they didn't live up to 1/2 the hype. Rather bland IMHO.

I would have to go with the Cain 550 Habano. Truly a disappointment - strong and nothing much else.

Re: The biggest waste of money cigar for 2009
I smoked a Macanudo 1968 that was the worst cigar of the year for me....I didn't pay for it but it was still a waste of money because it was a waste of my time! The only other memorable horrible smoke was the barber pole Cohiba Torps in the glass box. I took a puff off of one at one of Vin's cigarbeques...and then Ben (Stearns) nubbed the frigging thing.

The old blend or the new Pepin blend that came out late in 2009?

Some Davidoff tubo....I think I paid around $15 for it. The most I've ever paid for a cigar that I can recall. It totally sucked.
