Had a local brew Pub's Rye IPA for lunch. The pub is called the Vintage. It was pretty good. Pucker up hoppy which was nice and the rye added some sweet.

Enjoying? Maybe.... I'm not sure...
Southern Tier Unearthly Oak Aged IPA.

The STRONG oak thing is throwing me. I never would guess this was an IPA if someone handed it to me blind.
More like a Barleywine.

It is supposed to have Cascade and Centennial in it and I smell 0 citrus/grapefruit.
Cascade/Centennial/Chinook/Goldings ... with that hop bill you would think....
Hell, I'm confused.

We're having another "Octoberfest" dinner tonight. My best friend is coming over. I got Bavarian wurst, Bockwurst, Knockwurst, and some kind of white sausage made with chicken. My neighbor sent over some homemade sauerkraut. I made red cabbage with apples and onions, and bought some potato perogies. We've got a boatload of German-style beers: my homebrewed dunkelweizen, Avery Kaiser, Aventinus Eisbock, Weissenohe Monk's Fest. Plus, a liter can & dimple mug of Paulaner Weisn Bier. That's a lot of beer! (The 16 oz can of Surly is alongside for comparison.)

Uffda, its been a big night. My buddy and I drank several of my homebrews, the Paulaner wiesn, a bottle of GI BCBCS, and some 2009 Founders Nemesis. Plus a boatload of food. I'm off to bed.

Picked up a six-pack of Victory Storm King and a growler of Moloko at Binny's today. The GIBCVS is still not out, but my friend there did say they will get 10-15 cases.

Three floyds nice! Victory storm kings and old reliable choice for me, a top notch imperial stout for the price tag.

Just finished a Surly Wet. Not sure what is next on deck when I watch the ballgame. Maybe a Surlyfest.
