Yea, the work trip out of town put me behind. Day 10 is a Hols Marezenbier. Good summer beer.

Finally got ahold of my case of 2019 BCBS. Haven’t had a chance to crack one open yet.

Demand for the Goose Island Bourbon County Stout is not what it has been around here in previous years.

My guess is production is up. I was at Total Wine last night and they had cases of the cherry and wheat wine. I picked up a single of the cherry so I didn't have to drink the one I picked up on black friday but it's not as exciting as if I had found a variant after release day three years ago, which would never have happened

Makes sense, Ben....although my place had case upon case of the "regular", but none of the variants.

Oddly enough the regulars are harder to come by around here than the variants, I slightly overpaid for them on black friday because I didn't want to have to hunt them down but I've only seen a few places with them on the shelves since then. I think my idea on production increases came when I saw so many places selling the three year vertical 17-19, I wonder how many bottles they produced in 17 and 18 if they could sell so many of them in 19 (for a steep markup of course) and how many are being made now

Went into my corner place today, and they have all the variants. Coffee for $21, cherry for $25, some other one for $22. I passed.

Ben, either one of those first two worth that price of admission?

From what I heard the cherry is actually supposed to be really good, I'll report back when I try it. Also heard the coffee was good not great, I picked up a single but I don't know when I'll get around to trying it. The only one I would run to buy more of is the reserve rye (red box), I love rye stouts and I bet they did it well. Everything is worth whatever the buyer will pay for them and I'm sure these will all sell out at some point soon, but with KBS being a year-round production and things like World Wide Stout being easily available in many forms I don't need to be spending $20+ on single bottles of BCBS for daily drinking

Thanks, Ben. They actually have several cases of each variant, and at that price I may have a while to decide if I wanna try one.

Those prices are actually pretty fair, unless the other is the wheat wine (yellow label) which I believe was cheaper than the rest, but also is supposed to be fairly sweet

Thanks Ben, that's what I was wondering. If you report back that the cherry or rye is good and they still have some, I may bite.

That sounds interesting Clay.

I had a few Founders beers over the last couple of days. The new Frangelic Mountain is sublime. It's a imperial brown ale, with coffee. Might have to pick up another 4 pack.

Also had some CBS. Used part of a bottle to make CBS syrup to add to eggnog. Of course couldn't let the remainder go to waste. The CBS syrup was a big hit at my friends house. I bet it would be good over ice cream.

I've had the underground brown but haven't been able to find the frangelic yet, had it at a tasting around 2011 when they first made it and absolutely loved it, hoping they still have some of that magic in these new bottles.

And yes, CBS syrup on ice cream please
